Event Type : Seminars Venue : Hotel Industhan International ICC INDIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN ACCOTIATION WITH IPF INDIAN PLASTICS FEDERATION PolyCon India 2014 "Innovations in Plastics and Polymer Industry – Opportunities for Business Development"

6 September 2014; Hotel Hindusthan International; Kolkata

Dear Sir / Madam,

I take the pleasure to inform you that the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in association with Indian Plastics Federation is organizing the "PolyCon India 2014" on 6 September 2014 at Hotel Hindusthan International, Kolkata with the support of Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, GoI. The theme of the conference is "Innovations in Plastics and Polymer Industry – Opportunities for Business Development".

Shri Avinash Joshi, IAS, Joint Secretary - Petrochemicals Division, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India has kindly confirmed to address and chair the technical session as our special guest.

The Indian polymer industry is expected to continue to perform well, driven by the increase in penetration of polymer products and healthy demand from end-user industries. A recent study has shown that the size of India's plastics industry may touch Rs. 1.7 lakh crore by 2015 on account of rising consumption of the material for producing various goods. At present, the Rs 1.02 lakh crore sector is growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20 per cent. The demand for plastics is also likely to double to about 20 million metric tonnes (MMT) by 2015 from the current level of about 10 MMT.

East and North East India would very soon emerge as the next growth hub for the plastics sector. The per capita consumption in the region is 2.8 kg against the national average of 8 kg. The consolidated growth rate of the East and North-East region is nine per cent against the national average of 14 per cent. The region needs a robust policy to make it a global destination for investment in polymer sector both upstream and downstream as it will have strategic advantages in the near future.

Given the above background, ICC is organizing "PolyCon India 2014" which would serve as an important platform to bring forth the investment and growth opportunities in the plastics and polymer sector and link up the upstream with the downstream for the purpose of business development.

Objectives of the Summit

To create a platform for corporate, policymakers, business partners and technology providers to come together and discuss the key issues and challenges pertaining to the Polymer sector in the country.

To explore new business opportunities and encourage investments in the sector.

To create a platform for prospective clients (buyer & seller) through business networking.

Given the importance of the event I am writing to request you kindly to participate at the Summit as well as nominate suitable representative as sponsored delegate from your organisation. Being Delegate, you could learn the recent innovations and development in (raw materials, product, technology, market strategy etc.) the plastics & polymer sector get maximum mileages from the forum by directly interacting with the stakeholders including senior government officials, leading industry representatives and different stakeholders.

Please find attached the Delegate Registration Form. Kindly fill up the same and send to us with the requisite registration fee to confirm your participation.

I hope you will accede to the above and look forward to your kind confirmation.
